Women's Bible Study
The Women's Bible Study meets on the first and third Thursdays of the month @ 10am in the Fireside Lounge. Sessions last for various weeks and cover exciting books and topics, along with stimulating discussion. Registration is required and payment is due for materials. Sign up on the opportunity board or contact the session leader.
This sessions book is Following the Call and we started our meeting on February 1st. There is still time to join us by contacting Pastor Randy at the bottom of this page.
We opened our first get-together with a meditation on God as Homemaker: “How lovely is your dwelling place....” We prayed part of a prayer of confession by Jessica Maddox and then, together, started looking into the format of the book, Following the Call: Living the Sermon on the Mount Together (edited by Charles E. Moore). This book designed to be read together with others, to inspire communities of faith to discuss what it might look like to put Jesus’ teachings into practice today. The essays are organized into 52 short mini-chapters covering every verse of the Sermon on the Mount. And there’s a great discussion guide which includes questions and probing “think-more-about-this” points, plus additional scripture readings related to the verses from Matthew’s Gospel. Here’s an overview of our schedule—please note that don’t meet every week—just on the dates listed—generally 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Thursdays:
February 8, 15, and 22 Chapters 1-6
March 14, 21, and 28 Chapters 7-13
April 11, 18, and 25 Chapters 14-19
May 9, 16, and 23 Chapters 20-24
